Vintage Kodak No. 2A Beau Brownie Art Deco design by Walter Teague 1930-31 Teal/Green
£186.00
The Beau Brownie No. 2A was manufactured from 1930 to 1931 and takes a 2 1/4 x 4 1/4 negative on 116 film.
The design of the camera front and leatherette covering was by Walter Teague, a famous Art Deco designer.
The Beau Brownie came in the following colours - Black, Tan, Rose, Green and Blue. The Green and Rose models were sold only from October 1930 to the end of 1931, before being discontinued. The other colours were produced until 1933. This camera has the Doublet lens permitting a shorter body than the regular Brownie camera. Sought by collectors this specimen is in excellent condition for it's age. The carrying strap is broken, the finders are not clear (possibly the mirrors?) and the front of the camera near the finders is slightly bent outwards (less than 1/8th of an inch - See picture with red line...).
The camera has 1 "snapshot" speed and a 'bulb' speed for longer exposures as well as three apertures. The shutter functions as expected and the lens appears clear. The aperture stops work as expected. The leatherette is intact except for the corners and a few scratches on the bottom of the camera. An excellent specimen.
